Armenian Harvest Promotion Center CJSC was established in 2011 aiming to promote development of horticulture cluster. The company works from farm gate to consumer plate and supports application of an effective production and farm management practices, post harvest handling and marketing. The ultimate goal is to ensure high quality production, handling and marketing of the Armenian horticultural produce. The primary tasks of AHPC includes the followings: Project coordination and support: AHPC is responsible for overall coordination, support on development and implementation of the Armenian Horticultural Development Project. Development of Master Plan: This entails implementation of comprehensive feasibility study to identify the best locations, most appropriate technology for the greenhouse construction. In addition it must address potential of the in house seedling production; development of cold storage facilities and warehouses; and creating sorting, grading and packaging facilities; selection of the crop cultivation techniques and identification of high values crops for the open field and protected ground cultivation. Infrastructure Development Scheme: This tasks aims to ensure design and effective implementation of the infrastructure in the selected precincts. This task implies construction of new and upgrade existing communication and energy infrastructure (gas, electricity, roads, CO2, water and wastewater) in selected precincts. Investment Scheme: This task implies preparation of basic mechanism and procedures to work with potential investors. It is a set of conditions and requirement necessary to investment into the project, which includes legal, financial and technical requirements. Acting as an umbrella: AHPC will act as an umbrella organization for knowledge accumulation, technical support and project management. Based on the Memorandum of Understanding with some investors AHPC will represent the common interests of the parties involved in the entire horticultural value chain development during negotiations with various parties, including greenhouse builders, truck producers, sorting and packing equipment producers and etc. Marketing: This part includes all marketing activities including, marketing research of CIS and other potential market potential and preferences; development of brand for the overall output; establishment of food quality control systems; selection of packaging solutions and finally developing a set of promotional techniques to market products.
